Before you begin your new job, you will need to complete the following steps.
Step 1: Complete the I-9 form in HireRight
- The federal government requires that you complete the Federal I-9 form within three days of hire. HireRight Customer Support will e-mail you instructions for completing the I-9 form and presenting your original I-9 documents prior to your start date.
This step is required of all new employees, including those transferring to Mass General from another Mass General Brigham affiliate. If you are transferring from Bulfinch Temporary Service you may skip this task.
Step 2: Complete your Occupational Health requirements
- If you were instructed to finalize any Occupational Health requirements, such as a chest X-ray or receipt of required or recommended vaccines, please complete them per the instructions that were provided to you by the Occupational Health clinician who helped complete your pre-boarding requirements. If you have any questions, please contact ONPHS@mgb.org.
- If you are transferring from Bulfinch Temporary Service or another Mass General Brigham affiliate without any break in service between jobs, an appointment is not necessary. If there was a break in service or you did not complete the requirements, you will need to submit information to complete the pre-placement screening requirements.
- Any questions can be directed to ONPHS@mgb.org.
Step 3: Review instructions for completing New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- On the Thursday or Friday prior to your start date, you will receive an email from MGH New Hires with information about Mass General's online NEO.
- Please note: A desktop or laptop computer is necessary to complete the online NEO modules. The content cannot be accessed on any other mobile devices, such as smart phones or tablets. If you do not have access to a computer or think you will have difficulty completing the online orientation due to limited English or familiarity with computers, please contact your recruiter as soon as possible for assistance.
Step 4: Contact your manager
- Contact your manager to confirm your work schedule. If you don’t know your manager’s name, contact your recruiter. Your recruiter’s name and phone number can be found on your offer letter.
