Anthony Zietman, MD Awarded 2020 Mass General Brigham Outstanding Program Director Award
Congratulations to Anthony Zietman, MD, Interim Chief of the Department of Radiation Oncology, who was among seven outstanding members of the Mass General Brigham community recently recognized for their excellence in medical education. Dr. Zietman was awarded the 2020 Mass General Brigham Outstanding Program Director award for his leadership as Director of the Harvard Radiation Oncology Program, a role he held since 2015.
Selected by a committee chaired by Chief Patient Experience and Equity Officer Tom Sequist, the 2020 Medical Education Award winners emerged from a competitive field of nominations from across the system. The Awards recognize Program Directors, Faculty, Residents, Fellows, Alumni and Administrators for exceptional contributions to our education mission. Nomination letters provide a window into how many outstanding colleagues inspire and elevate Mass General Brigham’s entire education ecosystem—and selecting awardees is always challenging.
Building on a decade-long tradition of recognizing the winners at a formal dinner, this year’s awardees will be celebrated in a COVID-appropriate event where nominators will provide a glimpse of what makes each so special. Amidst all the challenges of 2020, these educators managed to inspire, support and teach so many of those who entrust their medical training to Mass General Brigham.
