Research

My research is primarily related to outcomes of the patients I treat. I am especially focused on thymic tumors (both thymomas and thymic cancers) and participate in an international thymic tumor interest group (ITMIG). I have led the Society of Thoracic Surgeons General Thoracic Database for many years and have published extensively on outcomes based upon this robust national database and developed risk-models to predict and compare results. I also have a long-standing interest in surgery of the airway (tracheal stenosis, tracheal tumors and idiopathic laryngotracheal stenosis) and have published on early and late results.

Dr. Wright began by inquiring about my general health, then thoroughly addressed my latest scan. He has been patient, kind and thorough in our four-year follow-up to my lung surgery.

December 2024

I was referred to Dr. Cameron Wright through the Lung Nodule Clinic. When I was scheduled, Dr. Wright called me promptly at 9 a.m. and his first question to me was, how was I, how was I feeling? And that meant the world to me. Secondly, he was able to very clinically explain to me exactly what was going on with my lungs and exactly what he needed ... Read More
