The MINDSCAPES Gala Art Auction
MINDSCAPES, a project of the Depression Program Advisory Council, is a biennial Gala Art Auction to promote awareness of need for early identification and effective treatment of depression. The Advisory Council is a group of 20 volunteers and their families who have joined together to advance the mission of the Depression Program.
In the fall of 2005, the MINDSCAPES Gala Art Auction will debut, featuring a two-city event beginning in New York City as a gallery exhibit and continuing in Boston as a gallery exhibit and live auction. A total of 40 works of art will be selected by jury to appear in both the New York City and Boston galleries and will be then auctioned in Boston on October 15; hosted this year by media celebrity and entertainment reporter Sara Edwards.
MINDSCAPES will also serve to launch the annual Roger S. Goldstein Depression Awareness calendar, a collection of 12 juried works of art, many of which have been created and donated by well known artists whose lives have been impacted by depression, either personally or through family members or other loved ones.
Funds raised through the MINDSCAPES Gala Art Auction will provide urgently needed funding for the Depression Program’s research, public awareness, and medical education activities. Your generous donation of an existing work or your creation of a new work will help advance vital work to diminish the life-compromising effects of the debilitating illness of depression. |
