Close Collaboration with Educational Professionals
The Psychology Assessment Center offers educational consulting to bridge the gap between our report recommendations and implementation in the child’s school environment. The consulting also offers parents the opportunity to have their expectations for their child’s education expressed to the school. Gretchen Timmel, MEd, our Educational Liaison, brings to her consulting services over fifteen years of direct experience in the field, which includes educational evaluation, school psychology work in the public schools, teaching, and private tutoring.
Please note that for the purposes of diagnosing learning disabilities, most health insurances will not cover intellectual, academic, cognitive, or neuropsychological testing. You may either contact your local school system to request authorization of an independent educational evaluation (second, outside opinion) to cover the cost of testing for learning disabilities and/or psychological assessment for personality, social and emotional difficulties for your child or sign a waiver agreeing to pay the cost of the evaluation.
