interns on our community pediatric rotation (PBC) on workshops for pregnant and parenting teens in Somerville, MA, as well as legislative initiatives, such as lobbying on behalf of the ATV ban recently before the Massachusetts legislature.

Yearly, they put together their signature event, the Massachusetts Pediatric Residents and Fellows Day at the State House (RFDASH). Since its inception in 2006, this resident-led event has welcomed residents from all five Massachusetts pediatric training programs to the Massachusetts State House for a day-long event focusing on legislative advocacy. Particpants take part in an educational morning program with a focus on current bills relating to child health before the Massachusetts legislature. In the afternoon, residents and fellows then go to the offices of their elected officials to lobby on behalf of children with respect to these bills. The event has been so successful, that is is now sponsored by the Massachusetts Chapter of the AAP and has garnered national attention.
