The ABCs of Hospitalization is a booklet for parents and children developed by MassGeneral Hospital for Children. It’s an “everything you need to know” guide about your child’s stay with us. It includes our mission, guiding principles, and a detailed explanation of our family-centered care philosophy and partnership with parents. It also describes how a child’s developmental stage may influence his or her reactions during a hospital stay. A complete glossary of healthcare and hospital terms, a map of the hospital campus, and more are included. Talk to your caregiver, and contact Child Life Services for additional educational and coping resources for children and parents.
