MassGeneral Marathon Team Fighting Kids’ Cancer . . . One Step at a Time
In 1998, Dr. Howard Weinstein, chief of Pediatric Hematology / Oncology at MassGeneral Hospital for Children, founded the MassGeneral Marathon Team Fighting Kids’ Cancer . . . One Step at a Time. This phenomenal team consists of MGH physicians, nurses, and staff, past and present patients, patients’ friends and family members, and accomplished marathon runners—all of whom compete annually in the Boston Marathon to raise essential funds for MassGeneral Hospital for Children. Many runners participate in the marathon in honor of patient partners who are living with a pediatric cancer diagnosis.
