Mechanism Underlying Multidrug Resistance
A team of researchers led by Anders Näär, PhD, of the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Cancer Center has identified a mechanism controlling multidrug resistance in fungi. A team of investigators from the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) Biomicroelectromechanical Systems (BioMEMS) Resource Center and the MGH Cancer Center have developed a microchip-based device that can isolate, enumerate and analyze circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from a blood sample.

Cancer Center Breast RN Receives 2008 Lane Adams Quality of Life Awards from ACS
Karleen Habin, RN, Administrator, Breast Cancer Research Program, is one of eight national receipients of the Lane Award.  Ms. Habin has used her own breast cancer journey to provide guidance to those facing a similar diagnosis. In her role as a patient advocate, she created the first-ever Breast Cancer Resource Guide of MA, which was distributed free of charge to a multitude of patients, families, and organizations.
The Breast Cancer Research Program is a nationally and internationally recognized breast cancer clinical research program at the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center.
